Suffolk U17B Tournament

Success at the Suffolk U17 Bronze – 28 October 2017
Couple of weekends ago, Esher Bahara and myself (both ForzaWM players), played in the Suffolk U17B tournament in Ipswich. We were meant to be playing the Silver on the Sunday but due to lack of entries, the silver was cancelled and therefore we played doubles and mixed in the bronze (we were unable to play the singles due to our grading.)
I played doubles with Benjamin Evans from Suffolk as my partner from my county pulled out a few days before and we had a tough doubles box however managed to win 2 of our matches, the second against the number 2 seeds; a strong pair from Hertfordshire consisting of Tobias Goddard and Finlay Cattermole, which we held our nerve to win 21-19. We lost our last match 17-21 and therefore just missed out on reaching the semi-finals on points difference as there was a three way tie amongst the top 3 pairs in the group. We therefore finished a close runner-up with the pair we just lost to going through to win bronze.
Esher Bahara paired up with Hayden Rolph from Suffolk and breezed through their group as the number one seeds to reach the final due to a bye in the semi’s. They lost a very close final to another strong pair from Hertfordshire of Zack Bobrowski and Thomas Sweetnam 18-21 so came away with the silver medal.
In the mixed, I played with Isabelle Sellors from Norfolk and we were undefeated in the round robin group and won the tournament, our closest match being against Esher and Lillie Cork which we won 21-15. Esher and Lillie unfortunately lost one of their other matches however having won 3/5 matches, won bronze in the mixed.
