Gloucester Senior Bronze – Caroline Cooper

Gloucester Senior Bronze September 2018

September 2018  I entered the Gloucester Senior Bronze and played women’s doubles with Pernille Woods (Worcestershire and West Midlands Performance Centre). Having never played together in a tournament and only ever having one practice game together we were very surprised to be number one seeds for the tournament. We had a bit of a slow start but managed to get through and win our first two matches. We had one more pair to play in the box which if we won we would be into the semi finals. Unfortunately we lost the first set and were trailing by quite a few points in the second, however we managed to pick up our level and make a comeback to win the second set 21-16. We then went onto win the third set 21-10. We were playing well and continued this form into the semi final where we won 22-20 21-14. We then had a long wait till the final as the other semi lasted a long time. In the final we continued to play well and won 21-11 21-19. We were really happy with this result, especially having never played together before.
